That was awesome guys 😊
I love this interview but it saddens me every single time I listen to it, Norm was an amazing person and so misunderstood
Explaining humor kills it.
Rip to both of these Legends Guy & Norm 🫡🫡
In my 57 years nobody has made me laugh as hard as Norm. Greatest stand-up comic ever.
thanks...i believe god is the sum total of all.
Wow I know exactly what he is talking about.
Guy is pretty dense at grasping what Norm is saying as most Westerners are. You think the East doesn't believe in science? Nothing unreal exists, there are one and many gods, it's a word that is incomprehensible to science, that doesn't mean that it's understanding cannot carry meaning. Just because science informs you that you exist doesn't mean that science has to be your god. Forcing Norm to explain god scientifically is the fruitless effort that is atheism. You believe something different about something unknowable. You don't have to prove anything.
Two of the most unfunny people ever.
I really feel bad for him, he seems to have had a lot of anxiety, a fear of life that leads to a fear of death. We all have it to a certain degree but if that fear overwhelms you that's really bad, it explains the gambling, too, you think you can beat the system which in fact you can't I find Norm very funny but his humour comes from a starting point of acute despair
this is still one of my favorite Norm interviews. Guy does a great job in the interview and I like that he gave Norm room for his serious, philosophical side. I understand why he rarely showed it, but I selfishly wish he let us in a little more
Why indulge in morbid fantasies when you can go swing by a party have a coupleadem sandwhiches there
702 views HOW?!? Literally looked up nardwuar documentary because he is the only one with the power to solve the kendrick and Drake riddles. A man of knowledge.
At the age of 78, I performed my first stand-up bit. My opening joke was an homage to Mitch Hedberg. "I asked to bring a prop to the stage. They said okay; so I brought this (holding up a cane). How literal can I get?"
Oh norm, how I come to you after a night at the pub
Is it asterology?
Wait a minute loool how do u have 377K views and only 1.7 subscribers that means 375 thousand ppl watched this and were like yeah I’m not subscribing to this guys channel 🤣 idk why that’s so funny
Where did Norm go to college? He’s a very deep thinker. That’s not self taught most cases.
Self taught professor of science at the University of Logic, my friend. The only one,I says, the only one that mattered. I've seen more sunsets than im gonna see I'm under no illusions.
Everyone….I mean everyone….loved Norm…
Dont be like Tolstoy 😮
Heard about Orny while watching a Mark Mahron YT. Watched Comedian following that. Orny is the best! Has grown so much in his humor...! He is a hoot. I watch What's Wrong with Orny Adams on YT every chance I get.
1:25:39 thats such a great comment/question to throw in there at this moment.. chapeau to the interviewer! 🙂
This is brilliant. Many thanks Guy for this interview, you give a deeply closeted man hope.
With regards to norm's comment about smiling versus laughing. When I was younger I used to watch the Conan O'Brien show every night that it was on and I never laughed but I would just watch it and smile. And for a long time I always said that Conan O'Brien was my favorite comedian. Because he made me happy to watch. I thought he was the funniest thing but never laughed once. I was just soaking it all in every time.
Womp womp womp...
Profoundly existential. Brilliant. Could listen to 10 hours of this.
Also, people who listen to shit like this need to remember they aren't listening to people who dedicate their life's work to searching for the answers and entertain wild assumptions without accepting them as truth. Just saying.
If Christianity is true, than the vast majority of science is a lie. I know this is a comedy podcast, but some of the material expressed here needs to be challenged a little. Especially at these guys clearly are/were blind philosophizers.
I miss him so much. Him and my grandfather would have gotten along well. Grandpa Bruce was the only person I ever called just to talk to and I spent every weekend with him. I think these two are similar in that they have a curiosity and deep love that simply overflows. RIP.
One of my favorite comics and minds, of all time. So thoughtful. So original.
Her obit in The NY Times today indicated she prioritized family over career. Based on these few recordings, If she had made different choices she had the talent to be a major jazz/standards singer.
Sounds somewhat like Carmen McRae
Beautiful woman. Beautiful voice. Wish we had more of her music today . 🎶
RIP to both of these guys.
6:40 ... I guess the question to ask Norm at that point is, "well, would YOU do that?" .. It would end up being a setup for him anyway because he would probably then say, "Oh my god no !! that's disgusting !!"
RIP Gilbert, hope you Bob Saget and Norm are on cloud getting harp lessons, from Harpo. I heard Chico needs the money.
wonderful, I never knew of her.Great person, persons in Burnaby Eh?
R.I.P Eleanor Collins.❤
I've never heard of her, but great voice
Beautiful voice. Too bad itunes/amazon music does not have her music. So sad that brcause she was canadian she was not heard off that much.
Amazing to hear how her family fled Oklahoma, one of the bluest eyes, apple pie states in America (hence, recall the famous Rogers and Hammerstein musical by the same name). Eleanor's people escaped wanton racial unrest and heinous acts of racially inspired violence such as what occurred in Tulsa. They fled North to Canada. Eleanor had no desire and as she said, "no need to retrace their steps in reverse." Thus, Eleanor became a main stay precious gift to Canada. RIP Queen!
I just found out she's my 3rd cousin!
RIP dear lady!
51:10 so funny
Sad to discover that Guy has passed away too. In a kind of full circle moment, his wife wrote, “As a nod to one of his favourite comedians, Norm Macdonald, Guy was adamant that I not say he lost a battle to cancer. The cancer is gone now too. It was a tie.” RIP to both men. In a culture of inauthentic authenticity, this conversation was the real deal.
Its crazy hes takking about early detection, how long did he really know he had cancer I wonder?
It was so nice hearing Norm talk and in a slow low tone. When you watch him on stage his pitch is a fair bit louder and he seems to talk or think fast.
🎉🎉 Great guy, I hope he writes his book. Book with notes 😂😂
Corson was his name, through the whole procedure & after during recovery, it was Dr Colin. Still laugh to this day the drug make you jolly
Will you blog about it 🤣
Couldn’t be more leashed
